Access Audits
Access audits are carried out to establish how well a building performs in relation to access and ease of use by a wide range of potential users, including people with mobility, cognitive and sensory impairments.
Robert Wadsworth (Director) has detailed knowledge of disabled access regulations, with first-hand experience having been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis himself, resulting in mobility problems. He is aware of the difficulties disabled people face in day-to-day life.
Currently a supporter of the National Register of Access Consultants, he has the ability to identify necessary adjustments in services provided to disabled customers to meet the requirements of current provisions of the Equality Act 2010 (formerly the Disability Discrimination Act/DDA), BS8300, and Part M of the Building Regulations. A design service is available, tailored to specific situations and needs of individuals who will be using your service.
The audits and reports follow best practice guidelines contained within:
- Equality Act 2010
- Disability Discrimination Act Audit standards
- Equality & Human Rights Commission Statutory Code of Practice 2010
- BSI Standards 8300: 2018: Design of an accessible and inclusive built environment. Part 1 External Environment: Code of Practice
